Pupil Voice
At Lanner School, we believe that every child’s voice matters. We are committed to ensuring that pupils have meaningful opportunities to share their ideas, opinions and suggestions about school life.
Rather than having a traditional School Council, our Prefect Team acts as a representative voice for pupils across the school. Prefects regularly gather the views of their classmates, listen to suggestions and concerns, and share this feedback with school leaders. This helps to ensure that pupils’ perspectives are considered when decisions are made and improvements are planned.
In addition, whole-school assemblies provide opportunities for children to ask questions, share their thoughts and take part in discussions about important aspects of school life. Through these opportunities, pupils learn that their opinions are valued and that they can make a positive contribution to our school community.
By empowering children to express their views and take on leadership responsibilities, we help them develop confidence, responsibility and an understanding of active citizenship.
