School Aims and Vision
At Lanner we aspire to be a school community that is welcoming, caring, polite and friendly, where we work in an atmosphere of mutual respect and support, co-operation and collaboration.
Building on the characteristics of effective learning (thinking, motivation and engagement) from EYFS, children remain curious, resilient and motivated learners who explore, think critically and actively engage in new challenges. We provide an engaging curriculum and creative teaching, further developing foundational knowledge and skills to ensure that we can help our children to become confident and independent learners for life.
Our School Drivers
Language and Oracy empower our children to become confident, articulate communicators. Through rich vocabulary, purposeful talk, and opportunities to express themselves, we help pupils find their voice, listen deeply, and engage meaningfully with the world around them. Strong communication skills open doors, build understanding, and lay the foundations for lifelong learning.
Aspiring to Achieve nurtures ambition, perseverance, and pride. At Lanner, we encourage every child to set bold goals, challenge themselves, and celebrate progress. By fostering determination and a belief in their own potential, we inspire pupils to aim high, embrace new opportunities, and grow into resilient learners ready for the future.
Community and Culture strengthen our sense of belonging—within Lanner, across Cornwall, and beyond. We celebrate our heritage, value diversity, and build connections that help children understand their place in an ever-changing wider world. Through shared experiences, traditions, and collaboration, pupils learn to live their lives contributing positively, appreciating others, and taking pride in the vibrant community they are part of.
